South Shore DSA Housing Campaign

The South Shore DSA works actively to counter eviction and to build solidarity with tenants through outreach and organizing. This is our main project during the pandemic. We have focused the campaign against eviction on Brockton, but will soon expand to Quincy. Sign up using this form to take part.

We are organizing to stop evictions that are occuring as a result of the government failure to adequately address the COVID-19 crisis. Over 100,000 households in Massachusetts, especially in communities of color and immigrant communities, are at risk of eviction. Our state’s eviction moratorium expired on October 17th, 2020. The inadequate national CDC ban on evictions is expiring on March 31, 2021, but with loopholes, people are being threatened by landlords and pressured into moving in order to avoid the possibility of future eviction (an eviction record makes it much harder to find future housing). By organizing, tenants can fight back!
